The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup regularly attracts each year more than 45 performance sailing yachts to the beautiful Costa Smeralda to compete, and since the 1980’s has represented the elite of international yachting.

2012 proves to be third time lucky as this is the third success for the 28.5m Magic Carpet2, following victories in 2006 and 2008.  This fast cruising sloop, built in 2003 by Wally in Italy, is the most successful of all Wally racing yachts, and one of the best loved.

With naval architecture and exterior design by German Frers, Magic Carpet2 accommodates 6 guests and 2 crew.  The yacht has been extensively enhanced for performance gains and is maintained to the highest standards for both professional class racing and comfortable cruising.

Also in the Wally class, Y.CO superyacht broker Ben Bartlett was racing on J One which came in third behind Magic Carpet2 and Open Season.

For more information on Magic Carpet2 and other performance sailing yachts available for sale and charter, contact the Y.CO sales and charter team.

Y.CO will also be following the progress of Nautor’s Swan Selene, which competes in the Rolex Swan Cup this week.
