Yachting is more than a vacation. When you step onboard, it becomes a lifestyle.

Welcome to Miami

The Miami International Boat Show and the Yacht Brokerage Show in Miami Beach commence tomorrow, running from February 16-20.  Spanning four locations this exciting and diverse show runs from 10 a.m. to 6p.m. Thursday to Monday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday to Sunday.

The Yacht and Brokerage Show in Miami Beach hosts over 500 gleaming yachts on the strip along Collins Avenue, while the Convention Centre at the Miami Boat Show is the site of an array of equipment, products and smaller vessels.  Alternatively, for the sailors amongst you, Strictly Sail Miami at the Miamarina at Bayside provides an entire show dedicated to sailing yachts.  This includes a master class by Jimmy Cornell on Long Distance Cruising on Saturday February 18th.  Last but by no means least, the Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Centre play host to talks, training and seminars for those wishing to expand their yachting knowledge!

The organisers are recommending scooter as the best way to get around but there’s a host of courtesy shuttle buses and water taxis to bring you to soak up the atmosphere.  From Y.CO, Neil, Eleanor, Bruce and Clayton will be there as well as motor yacht Shooting Star.  Reaching over 45 Knots (the fastest in her class), Shooting Star is finished to an extremely high quality both inside and out and is an outstanding examlpe Scandinavian craftsmanship.  She can be viewed at Ramp 1, Slip 20, North End (38m, Danish Yachts, $22,000,000) link to Shooting Star
