The Piste 2 Plage Challenge is a four day journey over the French Alps made up of a team of 150 cyclists. It starts in the ski resort of Sainte Foy Tarentaise, high in the Haute Savoie region and finally ends up on the Mediterranean.
Over the four days, Nick and Louisa will cycle over 440kms and gain over 27,500 vertical feet. They will climb and descend seven of the infamous mountain cols often seen on the Tour de France, including Col de l’Iseran, Col du Galibier and the intimidating Cime de la Bonnette, the highest road in Europe!
By the time they reach the Med we will have ridden a combined total of over 66,000kms, nearly twice the circumference of the earth!
Piste 2 Plage is raising money for Help for Heroes, a charity dedicated to helping wounded British soldiers, who have been injured whilst serving their country. The event hopes to raise £300,000 of which £158k will entirely fund a Hydrotherapy swimming pool, planned in the new Phoenix Centre based at Tedworth House. The pool will be an essential tool used by injured soldiers as a part of their rehabilitation.
